Head of Maintenance – England in Wolverhampton

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Maintenance to join the management team within our busy Engineering Department at our Wolverhampton base.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, quality, and operational performance. Reporting into senior management, the successful candidate will lead a skilled engineering team and play a pivotal role in supporting the continued success of the operation.

This role is a permanent full-time role, based on a 35-hour contract. The working hours are Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:30 however, these hours are subject to vary to meet operational requirements which may include occasional weekend work.

There will be a requirement to occasionally attend other Operating Maintenance Bases, which would include overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the Wolverhampton Engineering Team, ensuring effective task allocation, quality standards, and maintenance support to maximise aircraft availability.
• Liaise regularly with the HoM and Operations regarding aircraft status and operational requirements.
• Ensure completed Technical Log Pages are submitted daily to Technical Records and that all hard-copy records and work packs are returned promptly.
• Coordinate with the HoM, Operations, and Chief Technicians (CT) of other Operating Bases to ensure aircraft are prepared and available for operational requirements.
• Coordinate with the HoM and other Base CT’s to support efficient Line and Base Maintenance activities at Wolverhampton and in the field, when required.
• Manage aircraft spares and consumables in accordance with the PDG Part 145 MOE and industry best practice, ensuring stock availability, timely requisitioning of spares, prompt return of core assemblies to suppliers, and the return of relevant documentation to Logistics and Technical Records as required.
• Maintain effective control of tooling, test equipment, ground support equipment and aircraft handling equipment, ensuring compliance with inspection, servicing and calibration requirements.
• Oversee the local management of JET A-1 fuel assets, including procurement, storage, maintenance, sampling, retention and dispensing activities.
• Ensure the office space, hangar, workshops and stores areas are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly working condition.
• Conduct or arrange competency assessments and on-the-job training, ensuring team compliance with continuation training, company training and communications requirements.

• Promote a positive safety culture and support the effective implementation of the Company Safety Management System (SMS), including the reporting and management of hazards and occurrences.
• Provide general engineering and operational support to the Engineering Department and wider business as required.
• 3 or B2 CAA License
