Helene Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Scientist to support the production of autologous cell therapy products within our GMP-laboratory. This role is central to translating cutting-edge science into safe, reproducible therapies, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and patient impact. Manufacturing activities are performed within Helene Therapeutics' GMP facility in Central London, supporting the production of autologous mesenchymal stem cell therapies. You will work at the interface of science and operations in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
The GMP Manufacturing Scientist (Cell Therapy) is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for executing and supporting GMP-compliant mesenchymal stem cell therapy manufacturing activities. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Preparing materials and equipment for production runs
- Performing aseptic cell culture operations
- Documenting all steps in accordance with GMP requirements
- Monitoring in-process parameters
- Performing basic analytical testing
- Ensuring accurate batch record completion and deviation reporting
- Maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment
- Participating in audits and inspections
- Supporting training of team members on new procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field)
- Proven experience working within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in cell therapy, biologics, or advanced therapeutics
- Hands-on experience in mammalian adherent cell culture, including aseptic processing and cell expansion techniques
- Experience with batch manufacturing records (BMR) and quality management systems (QMS)
- Demonstrated ability to follow SOPs, maintain meticulous documentation, and comply with regulatory expectations
- Experience working in cleanroom environments with a clear understanding of gowning, environmental monitoring, and contamination control
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of regulatory inspection readiness and audit support
