  • BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
  • You will collaborate cross‑functionally with Business Units (BU), Engineering and Product Development, Sourcing, Quality, and other operational teams to drive continuous improvement in product testing for safety and compliance performance, independent product testing capabilities, deep technical expertise in global safety standards, and proactive stakeholder engagement—all to deliver timely, compliant product testing outcomes.
  • This role will take ownership of the daily safety operation assurance of the laboratory, and conduct routine maintenance and servicing of lab equipment, instrument and fixture, implement the company’s EHS requirement, and ensure the long‑term safe and efficient operation of the Vietnam laboratory.
  • Lead the development of test capability at ODM/OEM supplier side.
  • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • KEY 1: Product Validation Activities
  • Perform Product Validation functions, work independently with minimal supervision to ensure the test process goes smoothly and deliver high‑quality, on‑time testing result outcomes for assigned projects.
  • Manage and perform safety, performance and life testing per DQTP and related test protocols or engineering test methods, review test data and test reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure that the test items in DQTP are aligned to the related standards, product specifications or drawing and customer specific requirements.
  • Verify and qualify the design to ensure the good reliability of product.
  • Test failure sample check, analysis and tracking.
  • Collaborate with 3rd‑party labs and US lab team to align testing methods, and assess objectives, ensuring consistency between internal labs and agencies, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality testing/certification outcomes.
  • Perform lab SOPs, quality system and safety management system in line with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Ensure that the test manager is immediately informed of serious testing and safety issues.
  • KEY 2: Daily Operation and Safety Activities
  • Lead the daily safety operation management to fulfill company EHS requirement; and ensure lab operation to meet ISO 17025, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, and other lab operation processes and standards.
  • Monitor the electricity supply circuit status and line operation safety, daily maintenance, EHS compliance and risk control to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our laboratory.
  • Responsible for daily test equipment and fixture management, repair and maintenance to ensure its normal operation.
  • Responsible for test related equipment calibration; generate calibration requirements, track calibration schedule and check before certificate acceptance.
  • Provide equipment related training to the team members of the group. Monitor inventory levels and order consumables in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Key 3: Process Improvements
  • Support the Regional Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized testing workflows, procedures, and tools to enhance team efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide technical skills, equipment operation and laboratory safety training for local technicians and others.
  • Provide technical support and training for SEA suppliers.
  • Keep updated with UL standards, IEC electrical regulations and internal ETMs, support lab Intertek Satellite level 3 or UL CTDP recognized preparation.
  • Key4: Vietnam Laboratory Setup and Others
  • Support Regional Manager and Director to drive the whole new Vietnam electrical safety laboratory establishment project, including layout planning and project progress control.
  • Take charge of testing equipment selection, procurement, follow up delivery, on‑site installation, commissioning and acceptance.
  • New test fixture development per new requirements.
  • Fulfill other product Validation and compliance‑related tasks assigned by Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and corporate policies and procedures.

Education, Qualification and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Material Science, Product Testing or other relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Laboratory, Product development and validation, Product Compliance & Regulatory Affairs field with solid experience in a managerial role.

Experience or Skills Required

  • Familiar with international standards such as UL859, UL507, UL1278, UL982, CSA C22.2 NO. 60335‑2‑80, CSA C22.2 NO. 60335‑2‑23, C22.2 NO.60335‑215, IECC/EN60335‑1, IEC/EN60335‑2‑80, IEC/EN60335‑2‑23, and other related electrical safety standards.
  • Experienced in household or medical appliance testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of ISO17025, ISO9000, ISO13485, and laboratory EHS management, completed formal training in ISO 17025 system, electrical product standards or lab safety regulations is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of generating test protocols and new test fixture development per new requirement(s).
  • Valid electrician certificate or equivalent locally recognized electrical qualification + working experience in electrical equipment and test equipment maintenance; hands‑on experience in new lab build‑up is an advantage.
  • Familiar with automated test equipment development and PLC, Lab VIEW or Python is an advantage.
  • Experience working in laboratory or 3rd‑party agency, preferable in manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to develop training plans and coach lab team on professional skills and safety awareness.
  • Good team player, cross‑department coordination and problem‑solving skills, possess strong analytical skill and project management.
  • Good English proficiency for daily technical communication and documentation.
  • Fluent Mandarin proficiency is a strong bonus preference.
  • Adaptable to a changing and fast‑paced environment.
  • Responsible, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work under project pressure.
  • Solid experience with Office Suite: MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
