What you will be doing:

As the Associate Sales Director ECommerce at Helen of Troy EMEA, you will be responsible for leading and driving the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) efforts within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region, encompassing all relevant brands as part of the overall Online team and strategy for Curlsmith, Osprey and Hydro Flask. You will be involved in setting the strategic vision and objectives for our DTC channels, aligning with the company's five-year business plan and overarching goals. Your leadership will span across Sales, Content/Merchandising, Marketing/Media, and Operations, and your primary focus will be achieving a substantial increase in our overall business share, while ensuring that our DTC websites are the best-in-class expression of our brand’s identity. Achieving your mission by leading the full cross-functional eCommerce team and by collaborating closely with the Online Director and the rest of the online team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • DTC Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive DTC channel vision, strategy, and objectives that are in alignment with the company's five-year business plan.
  • Revenue Generation: Deliver on the sales plan for Ecommerce across all relevant brands, ensuring that revenue targets are met and budgetary goals are achieved.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and inspire the DTC team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Market Analysis: Keep informed about industry trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape within the EMEA market.
  • SEO: Own the onsite SEO performance in conjunction with external agency partners and internal teams to drive organic traffic and revenue.
  • CRM: Drive CRM, Retention & Loyalty strategies that focus on improving customer lifetime value, grow our brands database and reducing database churn.
  • Inventory Planning: Collaborate with the Finance & Operations team to budget and plan accurate inventory levels.
  • Paid Media: Oversee performance of paid media, including Paid Search & Paid Social.
  • Technology Evaluation: Continually evaluate new technologies and strategies, and work with our IT team to update DTC platforms accordingly.
  • Customer Journey Optimization: Regularly optimise the customer journey through the site, making necessary adjustments to enhance conversion rates.
  • Benchmarking: Review benchmark websites in terms of product range, marketing initiatives, functionality, and offerings.
  • KPI Tracking: Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), including website traffic and sales performance.

Skills:

  • Experience across multiple functional ECommerce areas e.g. payments, delivery options, customer experience, content, merchandising, analytics, digital marketing, omnichannel.
  • Experience in project management.
  • A good understanding of software development and a practical understanding of implementation.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Detail-oriented, whilst being able to adapt quickly to changing business processes.
  • Magento & Shopify eCommerce platforms knowledge.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of online applications, web development, ECommerce, development frameworks and tool sets.
  • Fluent in English (and French would be a bonus).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent in Economics, Business, Marketing or equivalent.
  • 10-15 plus years experience in digital marketing ideally within an international FMCG/Healthcare/Home/Outdoor B2C environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United Kingdom on a full-time basis.
