Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to provide specialist assessments and interventions for children and young people, with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD. Initially a part-time role (2-3 days per week), there is potential for this position to evolve into a full-time opportunity as you grow within the service. The role offers the flexibility to fit around your current commitments, with opportunities for both clinic-based and remote working.

You will join a multidisciplinary team that works collaboratively to support the complex needs of children and families, providing tailored, evidence-based strategies to improve speech, language, and communication skills, completing neurodevelopmental assessments (including, but not limited to autism, ADHD and DLD)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy assessments for children and young people, particularly those with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, DLD, ADHD, or related mental health challenges.
  • Develop and implement personalised therapy plans, ensuring a holistic approach in collaboration with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings, sharing expertise and insights to inform a child’s care plan and ensure a well-rounded approach to treatment.
  • Support families and schools with advice, strategies, and training to enhance communication skills and manage complex needs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and provide progress updates on cases.
  • Participate in evidence-based practice, staying up-to-date with the latest research and developments in paediatric speech and language therapy.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications : A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (e.g., BSc or MSc) with and registered with the RCSLT AND ASLTIP
  • Experience : Preferably “trauma informed” working with children and young people, ideally in paediatrics or with neurodevelopmental conditions (autism, ADHD, DLD, mental health).
  • Skills :
  • Strong clinical skills in paediatric speech and language assessment and therapy.
  • Ability to create and implement individualised care plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with children and their families and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • Personal Qualities :
  • Compassionate and patient-focused, with a genuine desire to help children and families.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
  • Flexible and adaptable, open to growing within the role and the service.

Your Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary £ 46,000,00 – £56,000.00 Pro Rata DOE
