Hela Brands is a multi brand apparel business operating across menswear, womenswear and kids, spanning apparel, footwear and accessories. Our portfolio includes brands such as Ellesse, Nautica, Reebok, AVX Avirex Dept, Fenchruch, Peter Werth and more.

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Apparel Designer to join our design team. This role is suited to a designer with solid experience who is ready to step up, someone with strong creative instinct, commercial awareness, and the ability to interpret and translate brand identity into relevant, authentic and commercially viable product.

You will be responsible for designing apparel collections, working closely with the Head of Design and senior team to bring collections to life from concept through to final execution. You will contribute to building cohesive collections where product works together, balancing design integrity, functionality and commercial awareness, while applying a considered and mature approach to design decision making.

  • Design seasonal apparel product, ensuring alignment to brand identity, design direction and commercial requirements
  • Translate trend research, consumer insight and competitor analysis into brand-authentic, credible and commercially relevant product, with clear purpose within the range
  • Produce high-quality CADs and technical packs with clarity and accuracy for development teams and factories, integrating into PLM systems
  • Work closely with product developers through sampling, fittings and protos, ensuring product meets expectations across fit, quality, cost and function
  • Present design ideas internally and externally with clarity and confidence
  • Continuously build knowledge of fabrication, construction and market trends, applying this to both personal output and overall product quality

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years' experience in apparel design within fashion or sportswear
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative ability and commercial awareness
  • Clear understanding of how to translate brand identity into product
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop beneficial)
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrics and manufacturing processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
