Heirloom Fair Legal is the leading provider of finance solutions to the consumer and small business legal ecosystem in the UK. We are also expanding our offering to other regulated professional services such as insolvency practitioners and their clients.

Deploying proprietary capital supplemented by lenders, we focus on lower-risk financing opportunities that earn their return through operational alpha rather than risk of capital loss. This means we become experts in the areas that we fund, develop opportunities alongside our borrower partners and take on a substantial operating burden in doing so. We are heavy adopters of technology and efficient processes to manage this. This enables us to provide capital to areas that other financiers would not be able to reach. This bottom of the pyramid strategy enables us to remain profitable while supporting positive social impact.

Our culture is very entrepreneurial. We promote work-life balance, but expect a lot from our people during work hours. In exchange, we offer rapid advancement potential and substantial autonomy in a supportive setting. The people that succeed with us are those who want to learn and improve, take responsibility and are able to work with a good degree of independence.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Finance Investment Analyst located in Central London, United Kingdom. The Investment Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating and analyzing legal finance opportunities
  • Conducting financial modeling and due diligence
  • Building systems to evaluate, monitor, value and report on their financings
  • Supporting the risk management and portfolio management of their colleagues’ financings
  • Understanding a borrower’s business and helping them to improve it
  • Implementing risk management processes
  • Facilitating the payment (outflow and inflow) of the financings

Qualifications:

  • Good ethical/value grounding, a desire to learn and the maturity to take ownership of tasks, manage your time and ask for help if needed
  • Experience evaluating and diligencing private credit, preferably structured or niche private credit opportunities
  • Ability to understand all aspects of a business, not just the ability to read financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making
  • Expertise in finance and financial modeling
  • Knowledge of legal finance or insolvency is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
