The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our growing Abuse & Social Care team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor or lawyer with at least five years' post-qualification experience who has a strong background in claimant or defendant abuse and social care work.

You'll manage your own varied caseload with a high degree of autonomy while also supporting complex and high-value matters when required.

Working alongside an experienced team, you'll provide expert legal advice to vulnerable clients, supervise junior colleagues and play an important role in the continued growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a caseload of Abuse & Social Care matters, including:
  • Care home claims
  • Child sexual exploitation claims
  • Institutional abuse
  • Sports abuse
  • Human rights claims
  • Deliver clear, practical legal advice and exceptional client service.
  • Conduct both pre-litigation and litigated matters to a high standard.
  • Assist on complex, high-value and multi-party litigation where required.
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior lawyers and legal assistants.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set objectives and support professional development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, case law and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and help strengthen client relationships.
  • Embrace and utilise legal technology to improve efficiency and enhance the client experience.

About You You'll be a confident and compassionate lawyer who enjoys taking ownership of your work and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.

You'll have

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive status (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 5 years' PQE in Abuse & Social Care law (claimant or defendant).
  • Strong experience managing a varied caseload from inception through to resolution.
  • Excellent litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently.
  • An interest in legal innovation and a willingness to embrace new technologies that improve the way legal services are delivered.

Why Join Heirloom Fair Legal? At Heirloom Fair Legal, we're building a different kind of law firm—one that combines outstanding legal expertise with modern ways of working.

We offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Genuine opportunities for progression as the business continues to grow.
  • Exposure to innovative legal technology and AI-driven processes.
  • A supportive, collaborative culture that values continuous learning and development.
