Company Description
Heirloom Fair Legal Finance provides bespoke financing solutions to regulated professional services, including legal and insolvency practitioners. The firm uses technology and efficient business processes to enable it to underwrite high volume / lower value collateral, giving it a key edge over other funders. Backed by a family office, we have a strong and stable internal capital base that is not subject to the whims of fundraising cycles. Our founding team has been undertaking law and legal finance in various forms for 20+ years.
Role Description
We are building a next-generation, AI-native investment reporting platform to support our legal finance business. We have built an in-house loan servicing platform using Supabase and Python, and maintain our accounts on Xero. We are now building the next layer of our platform: a sophisticated investor reporting system that transforms operational and financial data into high-quality portfolio, fund and investor reporting. This is not a traditional reporting or business intelligence role. You will be responsible for designing and building an intelligent reporting platform that automates complex financial calculations, consolidates data from multiple sources (Supabase, Xero and Excel), and produces investor-grade reports with minimal manual intervention. You will work directly with senior management and have significant influence over the architecture, technology choices and future direction of the platform.
What You Will Build
- You will design and develop a modern reporting platform that:
- Integrates data from our AI-powered loan servicing platform (Supabase/Python)
- Integrates accounting data from Xero
- Incorporates existing financial models and Excel-based calculations where appropriate
- Performs portfolio, fund and investor-level calculations
- Produces automated investor reports
- Produces legal entity financial reporting
- Supports management and board reporting
- Generates valuation and performance reports
- Enables future regulatory and compliance reporting
- Leverages AI to automate data validation, reconciliation, commentary generation and report production
Our objective is to create a reporting platform where data flows automatically from source systems into accurate, attractive and easily understandable reports for investors, management and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build the firm’s investor reporting platform, either with Supabase/Python or by using Xero-linked tools such as Syft.
- Develop automated data pipelines between operational systems, accounting systems and reporting outputs.
- Build portfolio and investor-level calculation engines.
- Develop valuation and performance reporting methodologies.
- Automate data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Design reporting data models.
- Implement AI tools to improve reporting efficiency and quality.
- Build interactive dashboards and automated reporting workflows.
- Produce professional-quality investor reports suitable for institutional investors.
- Continuously improve reporting automation and reduce manual processes.
- Work closely with finance, legal, investment and operations teams.
What We’re Looking For
You are someone who enjoys building platforms rather than producing reports. You are comfortable working with financial data, automating complex calculations and designing elegant technical solutions. You should be able to:
- Translate complex financial requirements into scalable software.
- Build robust automated reporting systems.
- Understand accounting and investment data.
- Work independently on platform architecture.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with:
- Loan or specialty credit servicing platforms
- Portfolio management systems
- Investor reporting
- Fund accounting
- Valuation methodologies
- Data warehousing
- Document generation and PDF automation
- AI agent frameworks
- Financial modelling
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 3 months you will have built a platform that:
- Automatically consolidates data from multiple internal systems.
- Produces accurate portfolio and investor calculations with minimal manual intervention.
- Generates professional investor reports with ease.
Within 6 months you will have upgraded the system to:
- Use AI to identify anomalies, reconcile data and explain material changes.
- Feeds an investor portal that enables them to access real-time and historical information related to their investment.
- Provide a scalable foundation capable of supporting multiple investment entities with hundreds of investors.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to build a greenfield platform using the latest AI technologies rather than maintaining legacy software. You’ll have significant autonomy, direct access to decision-makers and the opportunity to shape a core part of our technology strategy. As our platform grows, you’ll play a central role in creating one of the most advanced AI-driven investor reporting systems in the legal finance sector.
