Trading Area & Facilities
The site consists of an open-plan layout which is split over four different levels. The upper two nearest the street are essentially the drinking area, with planked floors, beamed ceilings, plenty of seating at wooden tables and chairs, and a single bar. The two lower levels are carpeted and form the dining area with at-table service and similar mainly wooden furniture, although there are a pair of u-shaped sofas. Dark wood dominates the whole and largely determines the ambience, even part-cladding the walls; photos of old Penzance form part of the wall décor.
The Star is a lovely building in a fantastic location. As part of the refurbishment, a new signage and lighting scheme was created to attract passing custom.
Historic, Listed Pub
Originally built around 1844 and reopened in late 2014 following a £750k investment, the Star Inn in Penzance is the wonderful, traditional pub located at the heart of the town. The project transformed the Star, restoring it to its former glory as an outstanding traditional pub serving the needs of the whole community.
As part of the project in 2014, the pub was refurbished internally & externally, along with the installation of new toilets and a new kitchen. All work were sympathetically carried out in keeping with the traditional character of the building. The future vision for the site is to introduce really good food, serve premium drinks and coffee throughout the day. This should appeal to shoppers and workers wanting a coffee or a snack or people looking for a nice lunch or evening meal out or just a great place to meet for a drink.
Visionary Operator Required
The ideal operator will be able to offer quality traditional style pub with a modern twist, an excellent cask ale range and selective food menu.

Private Accommodation
The private accommodation consists of four bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom and an office. This will be subject to the same treatment as the rest of the pub as part of the Star Pubs & Bars Ready to Trade Promise.
