Trading Area & Facilities

The pub is segmented into a bar area with 2 open fires and a restaurant area with a further open fireplace. The bar area is particularly welcoming and suitable for both drinkers and casual diners. It is in good condition but the pub would benefit from some further focus on the internal decoration. There is a compact catering kitchen but extra space is possible with the option to build an external dry goods store. It caters for 22 covers in the bar area with a further 32 covers in the restaurant area.

To the right-hand side of the pub, there is a boules pitch and a paved patio area that extends around the front of the pub. At the rear of the car park, there is a further patio and garden area with approx. 8 bench tables. There is also the benefit of a covered smoking area to the rear of the pub. There is parking for approximately 20 cars and outbuildings, used for storage.

Community Spirited Pub

The Nags Head is in the pretty village of Hulland Ward in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. Hulland Ward lies approximately 4 miles East of Ashbourne on the A517 and 10 miles North of Derby. There are many villagers within a 20-minute walk-time who are looking for a premium experience and good quality food offer. Within a 20 minute drive-time, the catchment includes a significant proportion of professional families. These families will become integral to the destination food marketing plan.

It is a traditional village pub offering quality cask ales, premium lagers and a choice of good quality wines. Their home-cooked menu is popular and drives destination trade. The real crowd-pleasers are the Thursday evening Pie Night and the Friday Pizza and curry takeaway. Not forgetting the Traditional Sunday Lunch on offer every week.

The Pub is also a great hub for the community and their community-based sports teams include boule, darts and dominos. Home-cooked food and quality cask ales help to set this pub aside from the competition. We would expect the next operator to continue to drive this offer and become an integral part of the local community.
