HEINEKEN Manchester Brewery is looking for Summer Interns to join us at our Manchester Brewery. As an Intern, you’ll gain insight into what it takes to make some of the UK’s favourite beers and experience working on a busy production site in a global business. This is an opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of one of the world’s most iconic brewers, make a tangible impact, and leave a lasting mark on how we operate.
Internship Focus
- Brewing – Data and Computer Science: A hands‑on internship for data science or computer science students to apply AI in a live brewing environment. You’ll work alongside brewing and automation teams to turn data into real improvements on site, optimising processes, increasing efficiency, and influencing how decisions are made across the brewhouse.
- Packaging – Mechanical Engineering: A practical internship for mechanical engineering students to work on real manufacturing equipment and improve how we maintain and monitor it. You’ll help introduce a new condition‑based monitoring approach, making maintenance smarter, more proactive, and more efficient.
Qualifications
We’re looking for somebody who shows enthusiasm, is willing and ready to learn. The following qualifications, skills, and experience are preferred:
- Studying a relevant qualification to your chosen internship: Data or Computer Science (Brewing Internship) or Mechanical Engineering (Packaging Internship)
- Comfortable using digital tools and systems (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Examples of teamwork, initiative, and a desire to make things better – through work experience, personal projects or society involvement
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently, with a good degree of self‑motivation
- Valid Right to Work in the UK – a student VISA permits only 20 hours of work per week during term time
