Overview
As the Shift Leader, you\'ll report into the Line Leader of the area and play a central role in ensuring our colleagues on the production line continue to exude brilliance in every task they endeavour. With experience in managing people, you\'ll engage with your teams to ensure that every colleague feels supported in their own professional and personal development, whilst also fostering collaboration with your peers for a functional & operating site; in adherence to our Total Productive Management (TPM) principles as a guiding framework.
About the team: Helping millions of consumers enjoy our beers and ciders is a real team effort. As a Supply Chain colleague, you\'ll be part of the biggest function in HEINEKEN UK! From barley to bar, our Supply Chain produces high-quality beers and ciders, prioritising safety, sustainability and innovation to keep our operations running smoothly. You\'ll be based within the broader packaging team, focused on keeping our bottling, canning and other lines running smoothly and efficiently. Your role contributes to ensuring machinery is reliable, well‑maintained and safe, while also anticipating future needs and driving fresh, innovative improvements to increase the site\'s overall output.
Responsibilities
- Promote health, welfare, and behavioural safety by driving hazard identification, closure, and safe working practices.
- Maintain a safe and effective workforce through strong wellbeing and attendance management.
- Achieve product, process, and first‑time‑right quality standards through effective quality control, audits, and adherence to the Quality Management System.
- Drive high performance through clear communication, performance management, and ongoing development of team capability.
- Deliver operational, quality, and reliability KPIs while ensuring strong cost control.
- Lead TPM activity, including Autonomous Maintenance and loss reduction, to secure sustained performance.
- Govern maintenance execution in line with the maintenance plan and technical standards.
- Use data analysis to identify trends, set priorities, and deliver targeted improvements.
- Lead controlled Management of Change to minimise safety, quality, and reliability risks.
- Strengthen internal and external collaboration, including effective stakeholder and supplier management, to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Packaging and FMCG exposure: Previous experience working in a fast‑paced environment or automated packaging line within Supply Chain will help you succeed and empower those around you.
- TPM Know‑How: A solid understanding of Total Productive Maintenance principles.
- People Management Skills: A proven track record of leading teams with a supportive, engaging leadership style.
- Laser‑Focused on Safety: A solid commitment to health and safety with exceptional attention to detail.
- Educational achievements: Although not mandatory (highly desirable), having a theoretical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing principles through a bachelor\'s degree or diploma in packaging, food sciences will supplement your practical exposure and application to get the job done!
