Job information: Hotel Receptionist (part time) at Heights Hotel, located in Portland DT, United Kingdom. This vacancy is for candidates with GCSE or equivalent education. This role is in the Hospitality field.

Job Responsibilities

Our 54-bedroom hotel seeks an outgoing and friendly person with good communication skills to join our team as receptionist. Previous front-of-house experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided to the right candidate. You will assist in the day-to-day running of the reception area, answer calls, handle guest enquiries, check guests in and out, and take reservations. This is a busy front desk role; you must be organized and able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, providing a high level of customer service at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming guests and checking their details against their bookings
  • Ensuring a smooth check in/out process for all guests at all times, taking payments and returning deposits
  • Answering phones from prospective customers and guests, taking messages and delivering them
  • Compiling guests accounts and fulfilling administrative duties
  • Responding to requests for help and information
  • Preparing room bills and ensuring prompt payments
  • Dealing with guests inquiries and supporting sales department
  • Ensure that the Heads of Departments are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and other departments

Please note: This role involves working shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. As a guide, start times will be either 0700 or 1430, depending which shift applies. The advertised rate of pay also includes holiday pay.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £12.82 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 32 per week
