Heidrick Consulting (HC) serves as the firm’s leadership advisory arm. We are a team that is passionate about enabling a world better led.
The Project Manager leads the coordination of client deliverables throughout the customer lifecycle. This person collaborates with internal and external project teams to continually communicate service expectations, process changes, project status and any pertinent client business issues. Ultimately the Project Manager is accountable along with the project team for creating a satisfied customer through providing a consistent level of customer service that is aligned with Heidrick Consulting’s values and meets the objectives for each account on which they are assigned.
In addition to partnering with our clients, the Project Manager also partners with the project team to ensure implementation of strategic plan. They ensure that deadlines are met, and the flawless execution of all deliverables is achieved.
This is a Fixed-Term maternity cover for 14months . From September 2025-November 2026.
Role Responsibilities
Client Impact & Engagement:
- Leading coordination of client deliverables throughout lifecycle of client relationship/engagement
- Owning the full lifecycle management of medium to large complex engagements
- Building and managing a project plan tracking work in progress with the account team
- Understanding the scope and purpose of the engagement, setting up PMO, reporting, budgets and documentation
- Managing day-to-day operational aspects of assigned engagements, including project and financial reporting
- Facilitating internal and client mobilization meetings
- Acting as primary contact to client and internal engagement team and managing all stakeholders
- Keeping Partners and engagement leads informed of financial impact on profitability and escalating issues as appropriate
People:
- Overseeing Project Coordinator led engagements and helping train new Project Manager’s and other team training
- Managing the engagement team to meet engagement changing needs and requirements
- Delegating and overseeing activities to engagement Coordinators on larger engagements
- Partnering with Consultants and other functional areas within the business
- Acting as internal resource for the engagement team to answer engagement queries
Firm Building:
- Contributing to resolving Project Management functional issues
- Developing relationships with team, other internal functions and clients
- Contributing to process improvements and best practices
- Managing the creation of proposals and RFP process, owning the timeline and costing
Knowledge:
- Understanding and following Heidrick Consulting Center of Excellence project management processes
- Using a variety of software tools to administer and supporting client delivery
- Understanding systems including Latitude, Kimble, PeopleSoft and Culture Connect as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding engagement profit and loss
- Understanding and appropriately using business templates and branding
- Championing for Project Management process or tool
- Understanding and appropriately delivering Stakeholder management
Basic Role Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on medium to large scale projects in a similar corporate environment
- Proven record in leadership experience with managing and delivering successful projects independently or with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Professional qualifications in project management preferred, e.g. PRINCE2/PMP equivalent

- Focus on quality in producing impeccable customer service.
- Facilitate with business acumen, and ability to comfortably discuss business issues at the C-Level. The ability to develop and present a project plan and appropriate project reports. Structure interactions and deliverables to keep team focused and accountable.
- Knowledge about the objectives of the project and recommends workable solutions to problems.
- The ability to clearly articulate ideas, opinions, feelings, and information in conversations so that business objectives are achieved, and the needs of the customers are met.
- The ability to understand strategic goals and determine tactically how to achieve them.
- Understands project management practices, procedures and continuous process improvements.
- Prior to initial contact with each client, can research and partner with consultants to demonstrate a deep understanding of the client’s business and the planned structure of the consulting engagement.
- Has the ability to influence others through positive/accountable approaches.
- Ability to give and receive coaching and feedback.
