The Position
Consultant – Assessment
The Assessment Consultant role provides the opportunity to grow with one of the fastest growing leadership consultancies specializing in accelerating the performance of leaders, teams and organizations. In this role you will further deepen and develop your consulting skills by working as part of talented Assessment project teams, and with a particular focus on Assessment for Selection purposes. Your contributions will expose you to senior leaders across a variety of industries and geographies. From the beginning, you will be part of the client conversation – your ideas and contributions will be essential to shaping the outcome of our work, and ultimately inform the leadership selection decisions of major clients across the globe
The purpose of the Assessment Consultant role is to deliver quality analysis and insights within your assigned projects. In some cases, your work will be in a support capacity and in other cases, you will be responsible for distinct client deliverables. In all cases, your work will involve gathering, interpreting and presenting information in an impactful and compelling way to enable clients and candidates to make clear and informed choices when faced with critical leadership decisions
The role will have a deep focus on leadership assessment for selection, development and succession. Coming into the role you will already have strong Assessment background including the ability to synthesize and present assessment data in writing using vivid and compelling language, well developed interpersonal skills, a good track record working in teams, and have worked in a leadership consulting firm or in-house, business-facing talent role.
Given the close intersection of assessment activity with the work of Heidrick’s Executive Search teams, you will also have an important role to play in bridging the work of the different consultants involved in a client engagement, and supporting strong collaboration between the Consulting and Search teams.
Accountabilities:
- As co-assessor, support the lead assessor in all phases of the client assessment engagement and operate with a client-first mindset
- Support the development of high-quality, client-focused assessment design and approach for each engagement, also utilizing data provided by the Heidrick Search teams in situations where there is a need to build role success profiles
- Support assessments using a broad range of data collection methods (e.g. competency-based interviews, psychometrics, case studies, immersive simulations), presenting findings in an easily digestible and concise format
- Participate in competency based interviews to capture observations and pose probing questions
- Identify key themes and insights from client discovery work
- Create initial draft of individual participant assessment reports and personal development plans and iterate with lead assessor to finalize draft.
- Analyze participant data to assist lead assessor with consolidated reporting. Draft initial consolidated report and iterate with lead assessor to final report.
- Lead document creation including issuing participant pre-work, summarizing key themes and findings, and finalizing deliverables to meet project deadlines
- Support the lead assessor in delivering post-assessment debrief sessions with the key client stakeholders
- In conjunction with the lead assessor, develop your capability in leading developmental feedback conversations with candidates
- Coordinate the capture of client data and ensure compliance with data regulations
- Manage client engagement scheduling, tracking and reporting in collaboration with Project Coordinators/Administrators
- Effectively manage own workload and prioritize own work to meet challenging deadlines
- Proactively develop own Assessment learning expertise and experience
- Actively give and receive honest feedback to drive Learning and performance

The Person
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong interest in Leadership Assessment
- 3-5 years of work experience, with a minimum of 2 years in Assessment and desire to continue to build your expertise and career in Assessment
- Undergraduate degree is required, higher degree such as MSc in Occupational Psychology or other relevant graduate degree preferred
- Sound knowledge of leadership assessment, development and talent management best practice
- Demonstrable experience of assessing/ developing others against competency frameworks, framework design experience desirable
- Qualifications in assessment, including certifications in delivering and interpreting psychometrics preferred.
- Experience in project management, planning and execution strong analytical skills- synthesis of data, insights and implications Assessment experience using a range of data collection methods . Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Highly numerate and structured thinking; strong problem solving and solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent English writing skills; can prepare concise and compelling deliverables - developmental assessment reporting highly desirable, other language skills a plus
