Heidi Bakery is a founder-led bakery business with eight shops across London, Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire – and growing – plus a craft bakery (Heidi Studio) in Windsor that supplies them all. We bake cakes for the Royal Family, have won five Great Taste Awards in the last two years, and produce around 50 bakery variations daily – by hand, by our own team, every day.
We're expanding the team at Heidi Studio and looking for a Pastry Chef to join us on our cake section. This is a new role created by growth – not a replacement – so there's real scope to shape how the section runs. You'd be working across our full cake range: loaf cakes, traybakes, tarts, cheesecakes, entremets and seasonal specials, all baked and finished in time to go straight from our team to our counters each day. We bake off early, so you'll need to be able to get to our Windsor-based studio in the early morning. Working hours are 4:00am – 1:40pm, 5 days a week.
What you'll be doing:
- Producing our daily cake range from scratch – mixing, baking, finishing and decorating
- Ensuring cakes are fresh, beautiful and ready for daily delivery to our shops
- Working to recipes with precision, consistency and care
- Maintaining the standards we're known for, day in and day out
- Contributing ideas as our range evolves
What we're looking for:
- Solid experience baking cakes or patisserie in a bakery, patisserie or restaurant kitchen
- Genuine care for the craft – someone who notices the detail and takes pride in the finish
- Comfort with early starts
- Reliability, a calm head under pressure and a good team attitude
What we offer:
- Early finish (1:40pm), no evenings
- Daily team lunches, cooked fresh each day by a member of the team
- Opportunities for external training
- Staff discount across all Heidi shops
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays
Location: Heidi Studio, Windsor Central Kitchen, 35-38 The Arches, Alma Road, SL4 1QZ
Hours: 4:00am – 1:40pm, 5 days a week
Salary: From 34k
To apply: Send your CV and a short note about yourself to team@heidibakery.co.uk. We'd love to hear what draws you to the role and a little about the work you've done so far.
