An excellent employer in the Penrith area is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative finance team. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys accuracy, process improvement, and being part of a premium & supportive workplace.
You’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate supplier payments and supporting the business as it continues to enhance its automation and integrated PO systems. The company offers a beautiful working environment, a strong team culture, and genuinely values its people. Flexible working is available, and candidates seeking 30+ hours per week are welcomed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Processing supplier invoices and credit notes with accurate coding and cost centre allocation
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Supporting the design, testing and rollout of automated invoice-processing workflows
- Assisting with implementation of a fully integrated PO system
- Ensuring compliance, maintaining accurate records and preparing finance reports
- Liaising with procurement, operations and suppliers to resolve queries
- Providing cover for sales ledger invoicing and handling related customer queries
- Completing scanning, filing and financial record upkeep
- Handling incoming office calls and supporting visitor sign-in
About You
- Experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable
- Confident using finance software
- Comfortable working with (or supporting implementation of) PO systems
- Strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
- Positive, adaptable and committed to high standards

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £27,000 – £28,000
- Flexible working: Start & Finish time Flexibility (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm or equivalent) Option for 30–37.5 hours per week / 4 days or equivalent considered
