The Company
Our client is an innovative data-driven organisation working with major players across the food and agricultural supply chain to help measure, manage and improve environmental impact, animal welfare and farm sustainability. The business is moving into an exciting phase in its growth — and this role will play a key part in supporting that transition.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, you’ll take ownership of management accounting across the group structure (a holding company and five subsidiaries). Supported by accounts assistants in the UK and overseas, your work will cover:
* Preparing consolidated monthly management accounts in Xero, with insightful commentary for decision-making
* Providing data insights and analysis on margins, profitability, costs and business unit performance
* Challenging assumptions and highlighting trends to ensure robust, accurate financial information
* Partnering with budget holders and the CFO to influence decision-making and add value to strategic plans
* Leading on budgeting and forecasting, and supporting year-end statutory accounts
* Maintaining KPI dashboards aligned with strategic goals
* Supporting financial analysis, forecasting, and ad hoc projects
* Month end responsibility; journal posting, accruals and prepayments
About You
We’re looking for someone who goes beyond reporting — someone who can interpret the figures, challenge where necessary, and tell the story behind the numbers. You’ll ideally have:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT (qualified/part-qualified) or relevant hands on experience
* Proven management accounting experience, ideally in a group setting
* Strong skills in Xero, Excel
* Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge figures and influence outcomes
* A collaborative, business-partnering approach — able to build relationships and add value across the organisation
* Adaptability and a change mindset to thrive in a fast-moving, innovative business
What’s on Offer
* Flexible working pattern (up to 24 hours) across 3–5 days, to fit around childcare, caring responsibilities or other commitments
* Competitive salary (dependent on experience) up to £45,000
* Salary sacrifice pension scheme (including employer NI saving and contributions on total salary)
* 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro-rata)
* Access to online training and development resources
* A supportive and inclusive team culture
This role is a fantastic opportunity for an accountant who enjoys analysing, interpreting, and challenging figures to influence decisions and add value — all while benefiting from the flexibility of part-time hours
