We are looking for a reliable and conscientious Quarry Maintenance Tradesperson to join our Brandy Hill Quarry team. The quarry is in Seaham about 45 minutes north of Newcastle, in the Port Stephens Shire.
As a Quarry Maintenance Tradesperson with Heidelberg Materials Australia, your day on site will start around 5.30am and wrap up around 2pm, Monday to Friday, but there is overtime available, including Saturday work. This is a full-time position, and reports into the Quarry Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintenance works may range from programmed maintenance schedules, shutdowns, reactive maintenance tasks, which will encompass minor fabrication, organisation of resources and supervising and conducting repairs. This role will support and ensure work is done proficiently, within commercial time frames, and in adherence to Heidelberg Materials policies and directives.
In your new role, you will:
- Perform daily fixed plant inspections, identify & repair faults.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is operating well within the statutory requirements.
- Ensure adequate records are maintained and report all incidents.
- Advise on improvements that can be made to maintenance tasks and processes or plant performance.
- Ensure workshop stock levels of components and consumables are maintained to support the scheduled/planned work.
- Assist with plant housekeeping activities, maintain a clean & safe workshop environment. (5S Housekeeping Standards)
This role is a great fit for you, if:
- Quarry or similar industry experience (preferred).
- You have previous mechanical fitting experience (essential).
- You have a trade qualification in Welding/Boilermaker or similar (desirable).
- You enjoy analysing and troubleshooting issues and problems.
