Are you detail-driven, organised, and ready to develop your finance career within a fast-paced international business? Heidelberg Materials is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our International Business Service Centre (BSC), supporting multiple countries with high-quality accounting and finance services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to international accounting operations, ERP systems, forecasting, budgeting, and month-end activities while working within a collaborative and supportive finance team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely accounting services across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post journals and accounting uploads accurately into ERP systems

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and risk analysis

  • Help deliver quarterly forecasts and annual budget processes

  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues using sound judgement

  • Analyse non-standard transactions and recommend solutions

  • Carry out root cause analysis and provide meaningful resolutions

  • Respond to finance and accounting queries in a professional and timely manner

  • Develop expertise in accounting standards and finance systems

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, analytical, and eager to grow within a global finance environment.

You’ll Ideally Have:

  • Previous finance or accounting experience

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • Experience using ERP systems would be advantageous

  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn

  • Studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA (desirable but not essential)
