We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive, and safety-driven Batching Plant Operative to join our team. You’ll play a vital role in producing high-quality concrete and mortar, maintaining an excellent site environment, and delivering great customer service. Currently operating as a one-person site, this role is perfect for someone confident working independently, organised, and ready to take pride in keeping the plant running efficiently and safely.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Production & Customer Service
- Work closely with the Order Office, plant team, and customers to ensure all concrete/mortar is produced to exact requirements.
- Deliver excellent service and maintain strong communication across the site.
- Plant Operation & Maintenance
- Operate the batching plant and Front-End Loader (FEL) safely and effectively.
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and cleaning of all plant mechanisms, buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained through daily visual checks and weekly stock assessments.
- Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment at all times.
- Ensure all staff, contractors, and visitors comply with site safety rules.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, including proper waste, water, and dust management.
- Report any defects, hazards, or issues that may impact safety, quality, or operational performance.
- Environmental & Administrative Responsibilities
- Comply with all environmental procedures and company policies.
- Support fraud prevention and adhere to Group and Regional administrative guidelines.
- Keep knowledge and training up to date to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- General Site Responsibilities
- Ensure the site makes a strong first impression through excellent presentation.
- Perform any additional duties required by management as part of the smooth running of the operation.
