We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of all group reporting activities for UNKGRP (HMUK) within Tagetik. In this pivotal role, you will shape the accuracy and integrity of IFRS reporting across actuals, budgets, and forecasts, while overseeing the delivery of high-quality statutory accounts under FRS 101/102. You will act as the go-to technical accounting expert, supporting key tax processes, leading cash-flow analysis, and strengthening our financial control environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Group Reporting: Manage timely and accurate Tagetik submissions for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including budgets and forecasts. Lead and support a team of three preparing Tagetik data. Review all financial data, classifications, disclosures, working capital and cash-flow schedules before submission. Enhance data collection processes and ensure consolidation integrity and elimination of intercompany activity. Liaise with Group Consolidation in Heidelberg and respond to audit queries.
- Statutory Accounts: Support preparation and review of statutory accounts for active and dormant entities (circa 300). Oversee iXBRL submissions and act as the primary contact for external auditors. Provide accurate information to Tax and Company Secretariat teams, ensuring smooth reviews and timely filings.
- Controls and Technical Accounting: Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures. Support impairment reviews and provide technical accounting guidance across the business. Assist with property transaction reviews and implementation of new IFRS standards. Ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
- Cash-Flow and Other Duties: Produce rolling four-week cash forecasts and weekly cash-flow analysis. Reconcile operational cash movements with Group Treasury reporting. Support VAT and PSA returns, liaise with advisors, and respond promptly to auditor queries. Build strong relationships with Legal, Tax, Treasury and Business Partners.
About You:
- Degree-qualified with a professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA).
- Minimum 3-4 years post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical accounting expertise and understanding of internal controls.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, lead small teams, and work collaboratively across functions.
