The Heidelberg Materials (HM) International Business Service Centre (BSC) provides administrative, transactional and accounting services to in-scope HM companies. The Accounting team will provide accounting services to client countries, including assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, completing balance sheet reconciliations and risk analysis.
Key accountabilities
- Accounting services
- Post journals and other uploads into ERP systems accurately and on a timeline basis.
- Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and identify risk.
- Assist with quarterly forecast and annual budget processes where appropriate.
- Identify and resolve issues arising using the application of accounting principles and sound judgement.
- Subject Matter Expertise
- Develop deep knowledge of relevant accounting standards and ERP systems.
- Investigate non-standard transactions and propose solutions. Provide thorough root cause analysis and outcomes for issues arising.
- Customer Service
- Foster trusted professional relationships with local country accountants.
- Respond to accounting queries quickly, with meaningful and informative resolution.
Financial & Non-Financial accountabilities
- All accounting processes for assigned area(s).
Compliance
- The role holder is expected to comply with all aspects of the Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy.
- To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place.
- To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.
- To proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.
- To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required.
- To comply with all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company.
Education/Qualification
- Fully Qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA Accountant or part qualified and able to demonstrate the technical knowledge and experience of a qualified accountant.
Other
- In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
