Asphalt Plant Operative Location: Keepershield Asphalt Plant Are you looking for a hands‑on, practical role where every shift makes a difference? We’re recruiting a dependable and hardworking Asphalt Plant Operative to join our team at the Keepershield Asphalt Plant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with plant or construction experience or someone keen to learn a new trade within a supportive, well‑established team.

About the Role

As an Asphalt Plant Operative, you’ll play a key role in the safe, efficient and high‑quality production of asphalt materials. Your day-to-day duties will be varied and include:

  • Operating and monitoring asphalt mixing equipment to meet production targets
  • Carrying out mixing processes in line with site procedures and quality standards
  • Operating a shovel/loader to move raw materials and finished products
  • Conducting routine maintenance to keep plant equipment in good working order
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Assisting with plant inspections and reporting any issues or safety concerns
  • Following all health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Supporting general operational tasks as required by the plant supervisor

Working Pattern

Night shifts and weekend work form part of the operational schedule. Flexibility is essential to meet production demands.

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who is safety‑focused, hardworking and ready to get stuck in. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience in a plant, quarry, construction or industrial setting (desirable, not essential)
  • Experience with a loading shovel or similar machinery (advantageous)
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to undertake physical tasks
  • No prior asphalt experience is required – full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in the construction materials industry.
