Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead a high-performing team at one of the region's busiest rail depots? We're looking for a proactive, hands-on Foreperson to drive operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement at our Sutton Courtenay site.
Your Mission:
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the site.
- Lead, direct, and develop the operational team to achieve ambitious performance targets.
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in line with Hanson's values.
- Drive operational improvements and efficiencies across all site activities.
- Collaborate with logistics, technical, and support teams to deliver outstanding customer service and product quality.
- Foster a culture of sustainability and continuous professional development.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supervising daily operations and ensuring compliance with all statutory and company regulations.
- Achieving optimum rail production levels while controlling costs and minimising waste.
- Maintaining plant availability through effective maintenance and inspection routines.
- Leading by example, motivating your team, managing performance, and supporting development.
- Managing contractors and ensuring all site activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years' relevant operational experience.
- Strong management and leadership skills, motivational, team-oriented, and results-driven.
- Excellent communication and people management abilities.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and environmental best practices.
- NVQ Level 4 in Health & Safety and Environmental Management in Quarries (or willingness to achieve within 12 months).
- IOSH Managing Safely and IEMA Environmental Managers/Supervisors Course (desirable).
- First Aid Certificate and MIQ membership (desirable).
