Purpose of the Role
To work closely with the team to produce concrete safely and efficiently within a clean, well‑maintained environment, while ensuring the highest possible levels of customer service. You will also operate the batching plant and FEL to company standards, contributing to a smooth, reliable, and professional operation while continually improving site presentation in line with company guidelines.
Key Accountabilities
- Operational & Production: Liaise with the Order Office, plant staff, and customers to ensure concrete/mortar production meets customer requirements, achieving optimum output, quality, and standards in line with the Procedures Manual, Working Instructions, and Technical Instructions. Accurately batch concrete/mortar in accordance with relevant procedures (when trained). Ensure sufficient approved materials are available to meet production demands. Visually check stock levels daily and complete weekly stock checks; verify monthly with the Plant Supervisor. Operate the batching plant and FEL to company standards, maintaining and improving site presentation in line with guidelines.
- Maintenance & Housekeeping: Inspect and carry out routine plant maintenance, ensuring all equipment, buildings, plant mechanisms, and surrounding areas are clean and well maintained. Ensure waste disposal, water discharge, and dust emissions comply with Environmental Procedures. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the entire site and facilities at all times.
- Compliance & Administration: Ensure operations are performed in line with Group and Regional Administrative Instructions to prevent any fraudulent activity. Adhere to all aspects of the Restrictive Trade Practices Act and related communications. Comply with all company Personnel Policies and Procedures. Keep knowledge and skills up to date and attend training courses as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Review work methods and plant utilisation to ensure optimal use of equipment, materials, and processes. Perform any other relevant duties as requested by Management.
