Purpose of the role
To work closely with the other team members in producing concrete in a safe, clean environment and to ensure the best possible customer service is always achieved. To be responsible for first impression reaction regarding cleanliness of yard, plant, and facilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate with the Order Office, plant staff, and customers to meet production requirements, ensuring quality and standards in accordance with procedures and instructions.
- Regularly inspect and maintain plant routines, cleanliness of plant mechanisms, areas, equipment, and facilities.
- Manage waste disposal, water discharges, and dust emissions following environmental procedures.
- Ensure sufficient materials are available for production demands.
- Inspect incoming materials and perform weekly visual stock checks.
- Ensure safety instructions are followed by employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Review and improve work methods and plant utilization for efficiency.
- Comply with trade practices, administrative instructions, and procedures to prevent fraud.
- Follow health and safety legislation and company safety policies.
- Update knowledge through training and attend courses as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Operate batching plant and FEL according to company standards, maintaining site presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the site and facilities.
- Accurately batch concrete/mortar when trained.
- Ensure plant is stocked with approved materials and verify stocks regularly.
- Perform routine maintenance and record defects.
- Report any defects or incidents affecting safety, environment, or quality.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, quality, and fraud prevention policies.
Compliance and Education
- Adhere to Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy and all operational procedures.
- Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation.
- Proactively manage health & safety to improve performance.
- Update knowledge and attend training as needed.
- Meet educational requirements: GCSE grade 4+ (or equivalent to a C in Math and English).
