The primary focus of this role is to operate, inspect, and maintain an asphalt plant to ensure the production of materials that meet quality standards. Responsibilities include:
- Planning production based on customer requirements
- Managing start-up and shut-down procedures
- Optimizing throughput
- Inspecting and monitoring the plant
- Performing maintenance and repairs within scope and competence
- Maintaining detailed records
Additional duties include:
- Refueling static and mobile machinery
- Operating mobile plant machinery such as Front-End Loaders (FEL) and dumpers
- Ensuring the safe operation of all equipment
- Following manufacturer guidelines and company standards for maintenance tasks
- Performing duties at other Heidelberg Materials sites within a reasonable travel distance, with allowances provided if applicable
Key Accountabilities
- Operate static and mobile plant safely and efficiently
- Maintain mobile plant, including refueling, greasing, and cleaning, according to manufacturer and company standards
- Complete daily inspection sheets for static and mobile plant conditions
- Report problems or defects to the site supervisor
- Complete near-miss reports as required
- Operate plant and machinery in an energy-efficient manner
- Maintain good timekeeping
