About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Quarry Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you will be involved in a wide range of quarrying activities, contributing to the safe and efficient running of operations. This position is ideal for someone with experience in quarrying or heavy industry, or for an individual keen to develop their skills across mobile plant operation, fixed plant processes, and maintenance support.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile plant safely and efficiently
- Run and monitor the fixed crushing plant
- Assist with breakdowns and basic maintenance tasks
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe working environment
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the raw material process
- Contribute to maintaining high standards in health & safety, environmental compliance, and product quality
About You
- Have experience operating heavy or large mobile plant (preferred)
- Hold, or are willing to work towards, an NVQ in Large Mobile Plant
- Possess good numeracy and basic written communication skills
- Have strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental practices
- Are proactive, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of quarrying processes (or willingness to learn)
- Mechanical awareness and problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow procedures and work to high safety standards
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
