- Logistics Coordinator (Syston)
- up to £30,000 + depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the efficient, cost-effective transportation of aggregates (e. g., sand, gravel, crushed stone) to meet customer demands and project deadlines.
- Manage rapid changes, tight schedules and high-volume operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Work with dispatch, drivers, project managers and site supervisors to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Utilise logistics software and GPS systems to track deliveries and optimise routes in real time.
- Communicate with drivers, suppliers and clients to resolve issues and coordinate last‑minute changes.
- Troubleshoot logistical problems (e. g., route changes, vehicle breakdowns, material shortages) rapidly and efficiently.
- Anticipate potential issues and implement contingency plans to minimise disruption.
- Maintain calm and focus under pressure while contributing to a positive team environment.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction, project success and operational profitability by maintaining a reliable supply chain.
- Ensure all transport operations comply with safety, legal and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent knowledge of SAP, Syncrotess systems and standard office packages.
- Good communication and cognitive skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
- Experience within a large company environment and a track record of achieving targets.
Education
- Education/Qualification: as above; relevant logistics or supply chain exposure is desirable.
