We are now looking for an experienced Area Technical Manager Concrete (ATM) to lead technical performance across a defined geographical region. The Area Technical Manager (ATM) is responsible for successfully managing all technical requirements across a defined geographical region. The role ensures a high level of technical control within the area, maintaining material costs within company targets while supporting customer requirements through the development and ongoing management of Heidelberg Materials’ market-leading materials portfolio.
To deliver against these objectives, the Area Technical Manager will work closely with internal colleagues and external customers using a variety of engagement channels, including digital platforms, plant site visits, and customer meetings. The role will also actively identify and develop opportunities to promote and deliver value-added products and technical services within the assigned region. This is a key role where you’ll ensure excellent technical control, manage material costs, support customers, and help develop our market-leading concrete product portfolio.
As Area Technical Manager, you will:
- Manage all technical requirements across your area of responsibility

- Ensure material and production costs remain within company targets
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external customers to deliver consistent quality, performance, and safety. Achieve the highest standards in Health & Safety. Support the Regional Technical Strategy Plan. Deliver company quality assurance targets and KPIs. Maintain strong technical knowledge of the industry, market, and competitors. Drive product and service excellence and continuous improvement. Manage material efficiency and cost-effective manufacture. Monitor product and raw material performance using NDAC systems. Ensure compliance with British & European Standards, QSRMC regulations, IMS, and Heidelberg Materials quality systems. Investigate and resolve customer quality complaints and non-conformities. Provide technical training to employees and customers as required. Proactively identify and communicate quality improvement opportunities. React to technical issues in a way that minimises business risk and cost. Deliver accurate reporting in line with business timetables.
