About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team at Heidelberg Materials. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will support the safe and efficient running of site operations, working with both mobile and static plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate mobile and static plant (where certificated), following all site procedures
- Carry out general maintenance work across the site as required
- Support operations on the main processing plant in line with Site Management direction
- Maintain plant equipment, including refuelling, greasing, and cleaning, in line with manufacturer and company guidelines
- Ensure all plant is operated efficiently and economically
- Complete daily inspection checks of mobile plant and record findings accurately
- Report any faults, defects, or issues to the General Foreman promptly
- Participate in site safety initiatives, including completing near miss reports
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site cleanliness
About You
- Experience operating mobile or static plant (desirable)
- Relevant plant tickets/certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong commitment to health & safety
- Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
- Good communication and basic record-keeping skills
