Heidelberg Materials UK is recruiting a General Operative to join our team at Whatley Quarry. This hands-on role is essential in helping us maintain a safe, clean and efficient site. If you’re reliable, proactive and enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a General Operative, you’ll support site and maintenance teams to ensure plant areas remain clean, free from material build-up, and operating safely. You’ll also assist in identifying potential issues, supporting good housekeeping, and operating mobile plant to keep the site running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist site and maintenance teams to minimise spillage and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Identify areas where materials may impact plant assets and act to prevent issues.
- Safely and correctly operate a range of mobile plant equipment.
- Ensure all work follows Heidelberg Materials’ procedures and safety standards.
- Keep plant assets and site areas free from material build-up.
- Maintain plant in good physical condition, following manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Complete near-miss reports as required by Site Management.
