Purpose of the Role
As an Apprentice Laboratory Technician, you will support laboratory-based specimen preparation and testing for Concrete, Asphalt and Quarry products, following relevant EN and British Standards as well as company procedures. At Heidelberg Materials UK, we are committed to delivering industry‑leading levels of customer satisfaction through continual improvement of our products and technical services. This includes maintaining a comprehensive quality management programme. You will work as part of a supportive team, carrying out tasks efficiently while upholding excellent standards of accuracy, safety, and attention to detail. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will complete a structured study programme with an approved apprenticeship provider, requiring commitment, motivation and a proactive approach to learning.
Key Accountabilities
- Maximising the contribution of the technical departments towards ensuring cost effective product manufacture.
- Establishing and maintaining product quality levels consistent with commercial/operational drivers and customer requirements.
- Administering high quality technical support to commercial, operations and external customers.
- Other duties as requested by your manager.
Education and Qualifications
5 GCSEs at Grade 4–9 (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
