As a Quality Control Technician, you will work both independently and collaboratively, carrying out essential sampling and testing activities while maintaining high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Purpose of the Role
You will be responsible for sampling, field testing, and specimen preparation across Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry materials in line with British Standards and company procedures. This role supports our wider technical, commercial, and operational functions by ensuring product quality is continuously monitored, maintained, and improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to costâeffective product manufacturing through accurate technical support.
- Maintain product quality levels that meet commercial objectives and customer expectations.
- Provide highâquality technical support to Commercial, Operations, and external customers.
- Complete sampling, field testing, and specimen preparation of Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry products following relevant standards and procedures.
- Investigate and report on quality issues across sites and depots, including:
- Concrete sampling, testing, and preparation
- Asphalt sampling, testing, and preparation
- Aggregate sampling, testing, and preparation
- Preliminary plant or customer site investigations
- Initial investigations into product issues
- Water demand and moisture content checks in readyâmix concrete
- Site practice reviews
- Truck delivery practice reviews
- Product consistency checks
Education & Qualifications
Minimum Grade 4/C or above in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
