Purpose of the role
Routine sampling, field testing and specimen preparation of concrete, asphalt and aggregates in accordance with European standards and company procedures
Investigate quality issues at relevant sites and depots under their control
Key accountabilities
Profit improvement arising from optimisation of constituent materials, mix selection and effective statistical process control
Maximising the contribution of the technical department towards ensuring cost effective product manufacture with the correct balance of supplier/customer risk
Establishing and maintaining product quality levels consistent with commercial/operational drivers and customer requirements
Promoting innovation in the field of materials design and application
Administering high quality, multi product technical support to Trading, Concrete, Operations, Contracting and external customers And any other duties as requested by your manager
Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
6 Months technical experience, with appropriate skills in practical application of routine sampling and testing procedures confirmed by NVQ level 2
Flexible and committed approach and the ability to work outside normal hours
Organised, ability to prioritize and make decisions
Good communicator and team player at all levels
Education/Qualification
5 GCSE\’s at Grade A-C to include Maths and English, or equivalent
