There is a vacancy in the Technical Operations team for a Quality Control Technician based at our site in Hingston Down, Cornwall. The Quality Control Technician will conduct sampling, field testing, and specimen preparation for Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry products, following British standards and company protocols. Heidelberg Technical UK is committed to high customer satisfaction by maintaining and improving its product quality and technical services through a comprehensive quality management program. You will work within a team with remote supervision, focusing on efficiency and maintaining high standards and attention to detail. Previous experience is desirable, but full training will be provided to the right candidate. A full, clean UK Driving Licence is required, as driving is essential for this role. Applicants should be highly motivated, good communicators, adaptable to change, and willing to work overtime as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maximizing the contribution of the technical department to cost-effective product manufacturing.
- Establishing and maintaining product quality levels aligned with business and customer needs.
- Providing technical support to Commercial, Operations, and external customers.
- Performing sampling, testing, and specimen preparation for Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry products per relevant standards and procedures.
- Investigating and reporting on quality issues at sites and depots, including concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testing, site investigations, water demand reviews, and product consistency assessments.
- Raising NCRs and Near Hits when appropriate.
- Challenging behaviors that compromise safety or quality.
- Assisting with transportation of test specimens.
