Join Our Team as a Junior Product Owner at Hawk-Eye Innovations. Are you interested in working with the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment, with exciting career opportunities in a growing business? At Hawk-Eye, we build technology that powers some of the most exciting and critical moments in sport, from instant replays and broadcast augmentation to officiating systems trusted by leagues, federations, broadcasters, and millions of fans worldwide.
Our Value Stream delivers the next generation of live video capture, broadcast infrastructure, and cutting-edge graphics generation that have revolutionised sports media. From ultra-low latency video capture and multi-angle replay servers to real-time broadcast graphics, data overlays, and augmented reality (AR) visualizations, we transform live, raw broadcast feeds into immersive fan experiences and critical video review assets.
We are looking for a Junior Product Owner to help drive our video and broadcast graphics products forward. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and operational excellence. You will keep the technical depth and operational focus of an engineer while taking structured ownership of backlog definition, prioritisation, and delivery outcomes. Working across complex, real-time software-hardware integrated systems in live stadium and broadcast environments, you will directly impact how our world-leading video and broadcast platforms perform on the global stage.
What You'll Be Doing
- Product Definition & Backlog Ownership: Act as the voice of broadcast operators, directors, and the business. Translate needs into epics, features, and user stories for small-to-medium changes, and maintain a prioritized backlog using data, value, and risk.
- Quality & Testing Coordination: Define and coordinate QC activities (functional, video/audio stream integration, regression, and UAT). Lead defect detection, triage, validation, and root cause investigations to ensure our replay and graphics systems remain incredibly stable and reliable.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Work day-to-day with Software Engineering, Video Infrastructure, QA, TechOps, and UI/UX teams to align on scope. Participate fully in Agile ceremonies, monitor support channels, and coordinate third-line support within your scope.
- Deployment & Early-Life Support: Create and maintain documentation, technical runbooks, and training materials. Support live studio pilots, staged roll-outs, and early-life support until video and graphics products are smoothly embedded in live, high-pressure match operations.
- Growth Toward Senior Product Ownership: Build your capabilities across the full product lifecycle. With coaching from senior POs and Product Managers, you will begin shaping short-range roadmaps, defining OKRs, and handling increasing ambiguity.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in a product-related role (e.g., Associate Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA, Broadcast Operator, or similar) working on technically complex products.
- Strong technical grounding with the ability to communicate effectively with software engineers, QA, and media operators across hardware-software integrated systems.
- Proven experience coordinating QC/regression testing and managing defect resolution.
- Video & Media Comfort: Basic understanding or experience working with video streaming, capture technology, media formats, or data-oriented products, with the ability to interpret basic operational telemetry.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset to plan your own work, handle live environment ambiguity, and escalate risks appropriately.
Bonus Points For
- Experience supporting product launches and creating technical documentation or tutorial content for broadcast teams.
- Exposure to stakeholder engagement, prioritization frameworks, and roadmap contribution.
- Experience working with products that combine software, high-performance video capture hardware, and graphics engines in high-pressure, live broadcast, or real-time sports environments (e.g., OB vans, master control rooms).
Benefits & Perks
- Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 public holidays
- Enhanced Pension Scheme: 5% matching
- Flexible Working: Hybrid model (2 days in the office per week)
- Wellness: Complimentary Unmind app, onsite gym (Basingstoke)
- Exclusive Perks: Access to sporting events and tickets, Sony Group Company discounts
