The predicted salary is between 1200 - 1600 £ per month.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will carry out all the cleaning in the Kitchen and assist with the preparation of food. To clean premises and equipment as required to agreed standards. To ensure that hygiene standards comply with company and statutory regulations.
Your day-to-day Responsibilities:
- To clean designated areas, complying with statutory and company hygiene requirements, including floors, counters, shelves, fixtures and fittings and walls up to 1.8m.
- To clean all equipment, not only complying with statutory and company hygiene requirements but also with all safety standards.
- To ensure that all items are stored correctly, in terms of temperature, humidity and shelf life and that no food items are stored on the floor.
- To report any faults or defects to management, paying particular attention to any safety or health hazard.
- To ensure correct stock rotation and that issues are effected on a first in, first out basis.
- To report any suspicious packages or parcels to management without delay.
- To prepare, cook and serve breakfast, lunch and evening meals to Doubletree by Hilton brand standards.
- To restock the breakfast buffet to ensure our guests always have adequate supplies.
- To assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring correction rotation (FIFO) and stock control.
- To take part in any fire or evacuation drills and ensure complete familiarization with all exits, including those normally used by customers as well as fire escapes.
- To be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.
- To comply with all statutory and legal requirements.
- Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service.
- Strong - sometimes you will need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling.
- Literate - you will need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths.
- Flexible - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
- Basic cooking knowledge and a genuine interest in food.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience within a kitchen environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
