The Role
We\’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the design team in Durham. The successful candidate will support the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate electrical building services including LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarms, and security systems.
- Produce drawings, calculations, and technical specifications in accordance with project and industry standards.
- Support the development of concept designs and feasibility studies.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to assist with design validation and installation progress.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, public health, architectural, and structural teams to ensure integrated designs.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Promote and deliver sustainable, energy-efficient design solutions.
- Stay updated with UK Building Regulations, BS standards, and industry best practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years\’ experience in building services electrical design (consultancy environment preferred).
- Good working knowledge of BS standards, UK Building Regulations, and codes of practice.
- Proficient in Amtech, AutoCAD, and Dialux/Relux (Revit experience advantageous).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.
