Join our Maintenance Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs, installations, and compliance works across residents' homes and community assets. We are seeking a qualified Electrician with strong electrical testing, fault-finding, and installation experience. In this role you'll undertake a wide range of electrical maintenance and improvement works, ensure compliance with current regulations, provide excellent customer service, and work collaboratively within a multi-trade team. Participation in an out-of-hours callout rota is required. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and customer-focused electrician looking to make a real difference within local communities.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Specifically, in the role you will:

  • Possess practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical knowledge to work proficiently and carry out electrical installation work without immediate supervision.
  • Work from drawings, specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials, accepting responsibility for accurate completion of jobs and supporting other operatives where required.
  • Design and construct electrical installations, including full and part rewires housed in different containment systems to adhere to the current IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Maintain and certify all areas of the business; commercial and domestic properties, inclusive of all properties and schemes operated by Hedyn and external lighting.
  • Undertake works from minor repairs to installation of new circuits, completing relevant testing and certification.
  • Complete all relevant electrical testing and safety certificates.
  • Install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair a range of heating systems and controls.
  • Install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair a range of door entry systems.
  • Undertake cyclical testing of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems, completing testing procedures monthly and annually.
  • Evidence all maintenance and replacements in the relevant log books ensuring compliance with current regulations.
  • Mentor, coach and develop apprentices and other members of staff.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed within the specified time period to a required standard and conform to current regulations.
  • Drive an allocated works vehicle in line with the driver handbook, pre-inspecting, identifying and obtaining the resources, materials and plant required to complete repairs.
  • Accurately record work time, materials and plant used to complete repairs ensuring maximisation of resources.
  • Ensure the safe use and storage of any plant issued, reporting any defects.
  • Conduct daily safety checks of the allocated works vehicle and record findings appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
  • Work at all times in a safe manner to meet the duties and responsibilities within the Health and Safety policies and procedures of the association.
  • Participate in the Out of Hours Callout Rota.
