We're looking for an Estates Services Operative to join our Property & Place team at Hedyn. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on cleaning, which will make up the majority of your day-to-day responsibilities. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across communal areas, including hallways, kitchens, offices, stairwells and external spaces, ensuring our homes and estates are safe, hygienic and well presented for residents. In this role you'll work closely with colleagues and residents, support basic grounds maintenance, and report any issues to help keep our communities running smoothly. A full UK Driving Licence, access to own vehicle and business insurance is essential for this role.

Specifically, in the role you will:

  • Communicate effectively with residents, internal trade teams and external contractors to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Work effectively with contractors and other members of Hedyn staff assisting gain access to parts of the buildings when required.
  • Clean schemes and Hedyn buildings in areas such as kitchens, internal communal hallways, stairs, offices, lounge areas and toilets (in general) including walls, floors, furniture, handrails, doors, windows, and all areas of the place of work to the Hedyn standard.
  • Report any defects in the facilities structure or equipment to the Scheme Manager, your Line Manager or relevant person.
  • Observe all regulations related to Health & Safety at Work including COSHH, Manual Handling and the Organisation's Health & Safety Policy.
  • Report to line manager when stock is required.
  • Contribute to the support of the residents by reporting any concerns, hazards or incidents to the Line Manager.
  • Maintain external cleanliness of Hedyn grounds and safety of the buildings, including litter clearance on communal land, shrub bed areas, car parks, paths and emptying of Hedyn bins and reporting of any defects and hazards to areas.
  • Work collaboratively with all other service areas to ensure that works delivery is fit for purpose and capable of delivering Value for Money services across the business portfolio of activities.
  • Mentor, coach and develop apprentices, seasonal staff and other members of staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business internally and externally.
  • Always work in a safe and appropriate manner to meet the duties and responsibilities within the Health and Safety policies and procedures of the association.
  • Perform additional, reasonable duties as required.
