We're looking for a Design & Planning Coordinator to support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable developments that create great places to live. In this role you'll work closely with the Design & Planning Manager, you'll help shape and review designs, coordinate input from consultants, and liaise with local planning authorities and stakeholders to progress schemes efficiently through the planning process. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication and coordination skills, an eye for quality and compliance, and a passion for placemaking and sustainable development.
Specifically, in the role you will:
- Work with the Design & Planning Manager to prepare the Hedyn Design Brief and Design Standards document
- Engage with design consultants to prepare and review designs to ensure they meet the requirements of the Hedyn Design Brief/Design Standards (House-types & Layouts)/Placemaking Commitment/Biodiversity Plan
- Ensure designs comply with WG/legislative/LPA/Hedyn requirements
- Work with the Technical Manager/Officer to ensure alignment of technical requirements, specification and design
- Obtain periodic feedback on the Hedyn Design Brief/Design Standards (House-types & Layouts)/Placemaking Commitment/Biodiversity Plan, recommending and implementing changes as required
- Assist with the preparation of initial planning/design assessments for sites to feed into scheme financial viability studies
- Undertake ongoing liaison with the LPA and SAB on proposed schemes in order to secure Planning & SAB approvals
- Work with the Partnerships & Engagement Officer to identify and plan engagement activities to meet the requirements of projects
- Undertake any additional duties commensurate with the role

- Units in management 14,835 (including 12,932 social rented)

- Growth ambition c 500 new homes per annum
