Role Description The Fine Wine Cellar Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at our London Mayfair boutique. This role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of the fine wine cellar, including receiving, organizing, and storing wines and spirits according to quality and safety standards. The Fine Wine Cellar Assistant will assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, labeling, and preparing orders for in-store collection and dispatch. The role includes maintaining a clean, orderly cellar environment and collaborating with the sales and sommelier teams to ensure product availability and accurate stock information. The Fine Wine Cellar Assistant may also support customer-facing activities on the shop floor, such as locating bottles, answering basic product questions, and helping to set up tastings or special displays.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in wine and spirits, with developing skills in Wine Education, Sommelier practices, and broader Beverage Industry knowledge.
- Experience or aptitude in Wine Sales and Customer Service, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and in a welcoming manner.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling inventory, stock rotation, labeling, and cellar presentation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving cases of wine and working in a cellar environment for extended periods.
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or a wine-focused environment is an advantage; wine qualifications (e.g., WSET or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
