Hednesford Valley High is a generic Special School setin Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding National
Beauty. We educate students on two sites, with years7-11 at our main site and our Sixth Form is set in a dedicated
building at Cannock Chase High School. We have amazingstudents with a range of learning needs, who are

The successful candidate will supervise classes duringthe short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that learning continues in apositive, safe and supportive environment.
Working closely with teachers, support staff andsenior leaders, you will play an important role in maintaining highexpectations for students' learning, behaviour and wellbeing while contributingto our inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise whole classesduring the short-term absence of teachers, delivering work that has beenset by teaching staff.
- Support students toengage positively with their learning and achieve their individualtargets.
- Promote a calm,purposeful and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage student behaviourin accordance with the school's policies and procedures.
- Support theimplementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalisedlearning strategies.
- Build positiverelationships with students, acting as a role model and encouragingconfidence, independence and resilience.
- Provide feedback toteaching staff regarding student participation, progress and behaviour.
- Complete attendance andreward tracking.
- Use ICT, learningresources and specialist equipment appropriately to support learning.
- Respond effectively toany immediate issues or emergencies, following school procedures.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience of workingwith children or young people, preferably in an educational or specialschool setting.
- A clean driving licenceand access to a vehicle, as you may be required to travel between our mainsite at Hednesford Valley High & our Sixth Form which is based atCannock Chase High.
- Who is willing to trainas a Mini-bus driver.
- Can establish positiveand professional relationships with students and staff.
- Has excellentcommunication and behaviour management skills.
- Is calm, adaptable andable to work on their own initiative.
- Has a commitment toinclusion and supporting students with additional needs.
- Is organised, reliableand able to maintain accurate records.
- Has good literacy,numeracy and ICT skills.
