HedgerWay are working with a leading real estate and investment manager based in the City of London who require a Senior Financial Accountant to join on a 12 month contract to work within their Group finance function. You’ll be a qualified accountant with experience in similar industry roles, ideally within Real Estate, Investment / Asset Management or similar.
Background will include working on month end, year end, statutory reporting audit support and projects work. The business are also going through a systems implementation so experience within this process would also be advantageous as you’ll be part of this project. Experience working under IFRS required, ideally in a large complex environment.
Act as a key business partner with Group Finance and wider teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting, true accruals, and strong financial oversight. Oversee monthly expense reporting, including detailed variance analysis, cost‑centre reporting, and presentation of results to senior management.
Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring accuracy within the general ledger and complete, timely balance sheet reconciliations across assigned entities. Develop and enhance financial policies, procedures, and processes to support accurate, efficient, and well‑controlled financial reporting.
Lead statutory and audit responsibilities, managing year‑end audits, preparing audit packs, resolving expense‑related queries, and ensuring statutory accounts and regulatory obligations are met. Coordinate tax‑related compliance, ensuring all periodic filings are completed accurately and on time in partnership with external advisors.
