We're looking for a Content Designer to join hedgehog lab on a contract basis, shaping the words inside government services so that they're clear, useful, and accessible to everyone who needs them. You will work from evidence, research findings, analytics, and policy documents to write content that guides users through complex processes without confusion or dead ends. You will push back on jargon, challenge unnecessary complexity, and advocate for the user when stakeholders default to covering-all-bases language.
Location note: This role may require presence at an office in Newcastle for approximately 1–2 days per week. While this isn't confirmed, it's something candidates should be prepared for. We encourage applications from candidates based within a commutable distance of Newcastle.
