The Client: Our client, a Main Contractor and Developer, expanded into the utilities sector in 2024, becoming an NERS-accredited ICP and WIRS accredited (SLP). They now manage connections for both their own developments and external clients, delivering high standards across residential and commercial projects.
Role Overview: We are now partnering with them to recruit experienced Site Manager/Site Supervisor. In this role, you’ll serve as the vital link between project delivery teams and on-site utility operations, ensuring each site is safe, well-prepared, and operating smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee multi-utility works (electric and water) ensuring site readiness and correct materials are on-site.
- Interpret site drawings and scopes of work to deliver efficient and compliant installations.
- Supervise subcontractors and direct teams on electrical (up to 11kV) and small to medium water connections.
- Manage permits, audits, site documentation, and ensure accurate reporting to the Project Manager.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture aligned with CDM and NRSWA standards.
- Prepare job packs, ensure the team has proper tools, PPE, and manage logistical needs.
- Conduct pre-, mid-, and post-construction site surveys.
Ideal Candidate:
- Background in managing high-voltage cable, substation, or multi-utility projects.
- Familiarity with NRSWA, CDM Regulations, and Health & Safety compliance.
- Qualifications: IOSH Managing Safely (desirable), SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, Manual Handling.
- Excellent IT, organisational, and communication skills.
- Leadership capability to manage on-site teams and drive quality delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing utility infrastructure works.
- NRSWA certification and a clear understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Health & Safety credentials including SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid.
- Full UK driving licence required.
