About The Role: Our client is seeking a Control Engineer to manage the safe and effective operation of their electricity distribution network. The role involves providing a rapid, coordinated response to network faults to minimise customer disruption, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and overseeing operational safety and compliance procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical connections requiring operational control of the network
  • Ensure all documentation for operational work is completed accurately and submitted on time
  • Respond to network faults and emergencies, acting as the Officer in Charge during outages
  • Carry out technical and safety audits, including incident investigations and reporting
  • Instruct contractors and staff on the installation, operation, and repair of network infrastructure
  • Liaise with DNO representatives on connections and fault works
  • Maintain accurate operational records and network data
  • Participate in standby and out-of-hours rota duties as required
  • Support the Control Manager with additional duties as needed

What You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or higher (non-negotiable)
  • Full UK Driver Licence (non-negotiable)
  • Experience working on electrical distribution network.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety legislation

NB: Fresh Graduates with no work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering will be considered for this role.

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification
  • Member of an Engineering Institution (EngTech level)
  • Experience with the design, operation, and maintenance of distribution systems
  • Previous work in an electricity control room environment
